SHARED SKIES — everyone flies the same world. The address bar always links to your current spawn; copy it to share.
Challenges are flown in calm air, scored on touchdown or gate time, in whatever aircraft you have selected. Your best goes to the world board under your callsign.
Never flown here before? A ten-step guided flight in the F-16 at Burlington: takeoff in full afterburner, a left-hand pattern flown through floating waypoint rings, and a talked-down landing. Fly-by-wire does the stabilizing; you do the flying. About ten minutes. Esc exits at any time.
Graded landings and canyon time trials live in the CHALLENGES tab — every score lands on a world leaderboard. Or just explore: FREE FLIGHT can spawn you at 3,242 airports or any place on Earth.
Your callsign floats over your aircraft for other pilots and signs your leaderboard scores. Shared skies shows everyone flying the same world as ghosts — no collisions, no chat, just company. No account, nothing stored beyond this browser.
Buildings, roads, traffic and vegetation stream to this radius. Applies live.
Resolution as a share of native (the sim caps native at 2× pixel density). Lower it if the frame rate sags.
The jet's cast shadow. OFF saves GPU time on integrated graphics.
Haze and distance: distant ground loses contrast and turns toward the colour of the sky, the way it does from a real cockpit. Costs fill rate — turn it off if the frame rate sags.
Close-range surface texture under the aerial photo — grass, asphalt grain, bare soil, picked from the photo's own colour and faded in below about 2,000 ft. This is what keeps the ground sharp on short final. Two extra texture reads per pixel, near the ground only.
Tufts scattered around the camera below about 500 ft, wherever the photo is green. A fixed pool of instances; switch it off if the flare stutters on integrated graphics.
